Yesterday we went to the Ladies' Market in Mong Kok, where there was stall after stall of dresses, handbags, shoes, jewellery and incredibly tacky souvenirs. I bought a sparkly bracelet and a beautiful silk dressing gown, but will definitely be back again soon for more bargain hunting!
Alongside the market we stumbled upon a few shops that were the Hong Kong equivalent of British charity shops - treasure troves that resembled jumble sales yet were replete with absolute gems: Burberry macs, real fur coats (slightly impractical for the climate here, perhaps), leather jackets and fabulous vintage dresses.

Among all the icky bugs and creepy crawlies we've discovered here, there are also some adorable baby birds in the entrance to our dorms:
